High Society opens at the Churchill Theatre on 6 October and three firework displays share Saturday 7 November. Dates, times and prices for six weeks.

The Churchill Theatre carries most of Bromley’s diary for the next six weeks, and its biggest booking is first: High Society opens on Tuesday 6 October and plays to Saturday 10th. After that the borough runs into a two-week half term, 19 to 30 October, and then the night that fills three parks at once. Beckenham, West Wickham and Bromley High School all hold their fireworks on Saturday 7 November, and none of them sells tickets at the gate.

  • Hypnosis and Magic Night, Friday 2 October, 8pm to 10.30pm, West Beck Club, 1 Sidney Road, Beckenham BR3 4PX. £11. Magic in the bar from 8pm and a comedy hypnosis show by Jason Simmons at 9pm, with all proceeds going to the Kumamoto Earthquake Appeal. The council’s listing gives the cost as £10 in one place and £11 in another; the organiser’s own site says £11 (Amigos Magic).
  • Jekyll And Hyde, Saturday 3 October, first performance 3pm, Churchill Theatre studio. From £13.75. A 70 minute staging for ages 11 and over (Churchill Theatre).
  • Man In The Mirror - A Tribute To Michael Jackson, Sunday 4 October, 7.30pm, Churchill Theatre main auditorium. From £39. The theatre’s booking data listed it as sold out on 28 September, so check for returns before travelling (Churchill Theatre).

  • Coffee recital with Francesca Massey, Saturday 17 October, 12pm to 1pm, All Saints Church, 44 Bark Hart Road, Orpington BR6 0QD. Free, with a retiring collection.   • Bromley High Fireworks, Saturday 7 November, gates 5.45pm, Bromley High School, Blackbrook Lane BR1 2TW. Tickets £13 to £33, with a funfair, bar and food stalls (Bromley High Parents Association on Eventbrite).
  • Light Up Orpington, Sunday 22 November, 2pm to 7pm, Orpington High Street. The High Street is pedestrianised from the War Memorial to Homefield Rise, with traffic diverted along Gravel Pit Way from 9am, and the main stage is at the foot of Knoll Rise (Orpington 1st).

  • Bromley Charter Market, every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 9am to 5pm, in the pedestrianised part of Bromley High Street. The next market day is Thursday 1 October (Bromley Council).
  • Bromley parkrun, every Saturday at 9am, Norman Park, Bromley. Free. A timed 5k to walk, jog or run; register once and bring your barcode. The next one is Saturday 3 October (Bromley parkrun).
  • Orpington parkrun, every Saturday at 9am, Goddington Park, off Goddington Lane, Orpington. Free. The next one is Saturday 3 October (Orpington parkrun).

Getting there

The Churchill Theatre is on the pedestrianised High Street, a short walk from Bromley South and Bromley North stations, and it has no car park of its own.
