Sleeping Beauty runs at the Churchill Theatre from 5 December 2026 to 3 January 2027 with Vernon Kay. All 50 performances dated, and where the £28 seats are.

Bromley’s pantomime this year is Sleeping Beauty at the Churchill Theatre, with Vernon Kay in the comedy role of Billy. It runs Saturday 5 December 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027 in the main auditorium, and unlike most of the town’s Christmas calendar it is already fully on sale.

The theatre’s headline is “from £28”. That £28 is real, but it exists on only 13 of the 50 performances, and the top price is £37. This page dates every one of them.

Every date, time and price below was read on 3 September 2026 from the theatre’s own Sleeping Beauty booking page, which carried a “selling fast” tag and showed all 50 performances still available.

The run in numbers

  • 50 performances on 24 dates. The run spans 30 days, so it is not daily.
  • Cheapest entry price £28, top entry price £37.
  • No performance on Christmas Day and none on New Year’s Day.
  • Also dark on Monday 7, Tuesday 8, Monday 14 and Friday 18 December, which is the odd one out: the last ordinary Friday before Christmas, schools already off, theatre closed.

The figures are the lowest advertised price for that performance on the day we looked. Prices on a Trafalgar production move with demand and cheap seats go first, so treat them as a starting point, not a guarantee.

Where the cheap seats actually are

The £28 performances are not scattered. They are the weekday matinees and early evenings in the first fortnight, 9 to 17 December, plus one 11am on Saturday 12 December. Once the run reaches Saturday 19 December nothing drops below £35 again.

The Saturday 11am show is always the cheapest of that day. On 12 December the 11am is £28 while the 3pm and 7pm are £35. On 19 December the 11am is £35 while the other two are £37. If a weekend is your only option, take the first show.

Christmas Eve and Boxing Day are peak, not a bargain. The £37 top price sits on eight performances: the 3pm and 7pm on Saturday 19 December, both on Sunday 20 December, both on Christmas Eve and both on Boxing Day.

Discounts, and the catch in them

The theatre’s Pricing and Discounts panel splits the run into “Standard” and “Popular” performances. The discounts below apply to every Standard performance plus four named Popular ones: 2 January at 1pm and 5pm, and 3 January at 1pm and 5pm. The page does not say which other performances count as Popular, so check the price before committing if you are relying on a discount.

  • Concessions: £2 off per ticket. Under 16s, over 60s, students and unemployed. ID may be required.
  • Family of four ticket, requiring a minimum of two under 16s, subject to availability.
  • Groups. Separate rates at 10+, 20+ and 40+, booked through the group enquiry form or on 0343 310 0077. Seat restrictions may apply, and group rates cannot be combined with any other concession or discount.
  • Priority Live members: £2 off per ticket, valid on all seats for the opening weekend and the 7pm show on 9 December. Membership is £45 a year across Trafalgar’s venues, so it only pays back on a large booking.

Schools: £18 a head, six dates only

Schools can book at £18.00 per student, with a free teacher place for every 10 students, by phone on 0343 310 0077. It is available on six performances only, and every one is a 1.30pm weekday matinee: Wednesday 9, Thursday 10 and Friday 11 December, then Tuesday 15, Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 December.

Those are the same six slots that carry the £28 public price, which is why that fortnight is the cheap one.

The show itself

The production is by Imagine Theatre, which produces the Churchill’s panto, with special effects by Burnt Toast FX. It runs about 125 minutes including a 20 minute interval and is billed for ages 3 and up (Imagine Theatre). The story is the standard one: the wicked fairy Carabosse’s curse, the spinning wheel, the enchanted sleep.

Vernon Kay is the only cast member named so far. He announced it in July: “Once you’ve caught the panto bug, there’s no going back. I absolutely loved my time in High Wycombe, so when the chance came to head to Bromley this Christmas it was an easy yes.” The theatre’s director Lorna Strawson called it “his Bromley Panto debut” (BroadwayWorld, 20 July 2026). The theatre has not published which performances he appears in, and panto leads do miss shows, so ask the box office if it matters.

The six access performances the booking page does not show you

None of the 50 performances carries a BSL, captioned, audio described or relaxed tag on the theatre’s own listing. The producer publishes them anyway. Imagine Theatre lists the accessible performances for every venue it supplies on one page, and Bromley’s are these (Imagine Theatre accessible performances):

Two things follow. Every access performance sits inside the cheap fortnight, so all of them are £28 shows, and the relaxed and chilled performance at 11am on 12 December is the cheapest slot in the whole run. Imagine Theatre adds: “Please confirm these dates with the theatre prior to booking.” There are wheelchair spaces in both the stalls and the circle, and access and companion tickets have to be booked on 0343 310 0020 rather than online.

Getting there and parking

The Churchill Theatre is on High Street, Bromley BR1 1HA, in the same complex as Bromley Central Library, with the pedestrianised High Street running past the front doors. It is a five minute walk from Bromley South and about ten from Bromley North, and ten minutes from the Market Square and Glades bus stops, served by the 61, 119, 138, 146, 162, 208, 227, 246, 261, 314, 336, 352, 354, 358, 367 and 638.

The theatre has no car park of its own and points people at Tetty Way and Churchill Way, both council-run and both with blue badge spaces. A 1pm matinee puts you in the middle of a shopping day: it finishes around 3.05pm, inside the daytime tariff, while a 5pm show finishing around 7.05pm straddles the daytime and evening rates. What else is on

The town centre Christmas lights go on on Sunday 15 November, three weeks before the panto opens, and the panto cast has appeared on the switch-on stage in past years. The borough’s fireworks displays are on Saturday 7 November.
