Chesney Hawkes and The Hoosiers headline Bromley's free switch-on on Sunday 15 November. Fireworks at 6.30pm; the full running order from 2pm is here.

Chesney Hawkes and The Hoosiers will headline Bromley’s Christmas lights switch-on on Sunday 15 November. The town centre business group Your Bromley has now published the full running order. The lights go on at about 6.30pm, followed by fireworks over the High Street.

The event is free and there is no ticket (Your Bromley).

The running order

It starts inside The Glades from 1pm to 2pm, then moves to the stage on the pedestrianised part of Bromley High Street from 2pm to 6.30pm. Your Bromley gives these times for the High Street stage:

Time On stage
2.05pm Host welcome
2.10pm Parish CE Primary School
2.25pm Valley Primary School
2.45pm St Mark’s CE Primary School
3pm Danceworx
3.20pm GDND Academy
3.35pm Studio 74
3.55pm Skylark
4.15pm Vivace

5.20pm The Hoosiers
6pm LED Drummers
6.10pm Chesney Hawkes
6.25pm Countdown with the host, the Local Hero, The Hoosiers and Chesney Hawkes
6.30pm Fireworks

Your Bromley says Chesney Hawkes will play a set before joining The Hoosiers and “Bromley’s very own Local Hero” to lead the countdown. The organiser has not yet named this year’s Local Hero.

What else is on

Alongside the stage, the organiser lists:

  • the Christmas Market, with a festive bar and food stalls
  • a big wheel
  • funfair rides for younger children
  • roaming street performers

How it compares with past years

The headline act has changed every year. Tom Allen switched on the lights in 2024 (Your Bromley, 19 November 2024). Sydnie Christmas closed the 2025 show (2025 running order).

The shape of the day is the same as last year. In 2025 the High Street stage also ran from 2pm to 6.30pm, and the lights came on at 6.25pm.

What it means for you

  • Small children: the school choirs and dance groups are on between 2.10pm and 4.35pm. The headliners and the lights come four hours later, so pick one end of the day.
  • Seeing the headliners: The Hoosiers are on at 5.20pm and Chesney Hawkes at 6.10pm. The stage is on the pedestrianised High Street, so arrive early for a view.
  • Getting there: Bromley South and Bromley North stations are a short walk away. Car parks and prices are on our parking in Bromley page, and any closures on the approach roads go on our roadworks and travel page.

The rest of the borough

Other parts of the borough have their own events, and the council has published road closures for several of them on the Public Notice Portal:

  • Hayes: Saturday 21 November. The council proposes to close Hayes Station Approach, from Bourne Way to the car park entrance, from 1pm to 7pm for the Hayes Christmas Lights Switch On.
  • Orpington: Light Up Orpington is on Sunday 22 November, 2pm to 7pm. The High Street is pedestrianised from the War Memorial to Homefield Rise, with traffic diverted along Gravel Pit Way from 9am (Orpington 1st).
  • Petts Wood: the Petts Wood Christmas Carnival is on Saturday 28 November. Petts Wood Road is to close eastbound from Woodland Way to the car park from 6.30pm on Friday 27 November until 10pm on the Saturday.
  • Farnborough village: the Christmas lights switch-on is on Sunday 6 December. Farnborough High Street is to close between its two junctions with Ladycroft Way from 2.30pm to 9pm.

Every date across the borough, including Beckenham, is on our Christmas lights switch-on page. The Christmas market and the Churchill Theatre panto follow in December.
