Chislehurst's Christmas market is confirmed for Sunday 22 November, with no food stalls this year. Bromley's own festive market dates are still last year's.

One Christmas market in the borough has a confirmed 2026 date, and it is not Bromley’s. Chislehurst Christmas Market returns on Sunday 22 November 2026. Bromley town centre’s own festive market has not been dated yet, and the council page that should carry it is still advertising last year’s.

Everything here was checked on 3 September 2026 against the organisers’ own pages.

Chislehurst Christmas Market, Sunday 22 November

The date came out early, and it came out in an unusual place: the stallholder recruitment notice. Visit Chislehurst published it on 6 August 2026, months before any public what’s-on listing, and that notice is the best source on the shape of this year’s market.

What it confirms:

  • Sunday 22 November 2026. That checks out as a Sunday.
  • The market runs in allocated bays in the High Street and also in the Old Chapel, so part of it is indoors.
  • It is run by Visit Chislehurst and The Chislehurst Society, supported this year by Go Travel UK.

The change worth knowing about as a visitor: there are no food stalls this year. The organisers say they will not be taking bookings for them “as we’ll be supporting the fantastic food businesses already based in Chislehurst High Street.” If you are going for mulled wine and a hog roast, that is the pubs and cafes on the High Street rather than the stalls.

Traders’ pitches are £55, or £40 for Chislehurst Business Group members, and applications close on Monday 28 September 2026. Spaces are limited and the organisers say they will confirm successful applicants after that date, so a stall list is unlikely before October.

Chislehurst High Street is 2.4 miles from Bromley town centre. There is no station in the village itself; Chislehurst station is a walk or a bus from the High Street, and the market is on a Sunday, when the parade’s own parking is the constraint.

Bromley town centre: the market dates are still last year’s

Bromley’s High Street carries a Charter Market that has been running, on the council’s own account, for over 800 years. Its normal pattern is every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 9am to 5pm, in the pedestrianised section.

Over Christmas it goes daily. But the council’s Bromley Charter Market page still gives those festive hours as “Everyday 11 to 24 December 2025: 9am to 5pm”. That is last year’s run, left live nine months later. The 2026 festive dates have not been published anywhere on the council’s site, so if you are planning around a daily market in December, do not assume 11 December is the start this year.

The town centre’s festive trading is otherwise handled by Your Bromley, the Business Improvement District, and the one date it has fixed is the Christmas switch-on on Sunday 15 November, which brings market stalls, street food and a Christmas bar onto the High Street alongside the stage and the funfair. That is covered in full on our Bromley Christmas lights switch-on page.

Elsewhere in the borough

Orpington. Orpington 1st, the town’s BID, has published nothing. Its events page carried an empty What’s On list when we checked on 3 September 2026. No Christmas market has been announced.

Beckenham. The High Street’s Christmas lights are crowdfunded by volunteers rather than funded outright, and last year’s appeal closed £7,600 short of its £24,000 target (JustGiving). No 2026 appeal has opened yet, and nothing market-shaped has been published.

If a Christmas market appears in either town, it will most likely surface first the way Chislehurst’s did, in a call for stallholders rather than a visitor listing.

Parking and getting about

Sunday markets in the borough’s villages are a parking problem more than a travel one. Council car park charges, the RingGo-only rule and where blue badge holders can park free are on our parking in Bromley page. Live road closures and rail engineering work are tracked on our Bromley roadworks and travel page.

Still to be confirmed

  • Chislehurst stall list and opening hours: expected October 2026, after applications close on 28 September.
  • Bromley Charter Market festive dates for 2026: not published. Last year’s ran 11 to 24 December.

We re-check this page in the week before 22 November and update the Charter Market dates as soon as the council publishes them.
