18 applications registered 18 to 25 September: a Milk Street nursery wants to keep 42 places, up to nine homes off Fishers Wood Grove, plus comment deadlines.

Eighteen planning applications were registered with Bromley Council between 18 and 25 September. Two matter beyond their own street: a day nursery on Milk Street asking to keep the extra places it already has, and a bid to establish the principle of up to nine homes on back land in Bromley Common. The rest are house extensions, a garage conversion and three tree notifications, listed in full below with the date each one closes for comment.

The two to know about

Halls Farm House, Milk Street, Bromley (Plaistow ward). The application is for “retention of the increased capacity of existing day nursery from 18 children to 42 children”. That wording means the nursery is already running at the higher number and is now asking for permission after the fact. Comments close on 14 October and the council’s target date for a decision is the same day (26/03677/FPA).

Land at the rear of 3 to 7 Fishers Wood Grove, Bromley (Bromley Common and Holwood ward). This is a permission in principle application for between one and nine dwellings. Permission in principle is a two-stage route: this stage settles only whether housing of that scale is acceptable on the site, and a separate technical details consent would follow before anything could be built. Comments close on 13 October, with a target decision date of 21 October (26/03657/PIP).

Bromley, Plaistow and Bromley Common

  • 149 Ridgeway Drive, Bromley (Plaistow). Demolish the porch, single-storey front and rear extensions, partial garage conversion with roof alterations. Comments to 14 October (26/03672/HPA).
  • 13 Oxhawth Crescent, Bromley (Bromley Common and Holwood). Replace a conservatory with a single-storey rear extension, hip-to-gable loft conversion with front and rear dormers. Comments to 13 October (26/03667/HPA).

Beckenham, Penge and West Wickham

  • 43 Downs Hill, Beckenham (Beckenham Town and Copers Cope). Single-storey rear extension. Comments to 14 October (26/03678/HPA).
  • 33 Balgowan Road, Beckenham (Clock House). Replacement front and side boundary walls and gate combined with cycle and refuse stores, maximum height 1.37 metres. Comments to 14 October (26/03656/HPA).
  • 5 Severus Place, Beckenham (Kelsey and Eden Park). Single-storey rear infill extension, a clerestory window to the side and a new side gate. Comments to 13 October (26/03569/HPA).
  • 9 Elwill Way, Beckenham (Shortlands and Park Langley). Conservation area tree notice: remove a small hawthorn at the front and a mature apple tree at the rear. Comments to 13 October (26/03723/TCA).
  • 56 Chesham Road, Penge (Penge and Cator). Replace a storage extension with a single-storey rear extension with a green roof, and a new patio with metal balustrade. Comments to 14 October (26/03621/HPA).
  • 60 Stambourne Way, West Wickham (West Wickham). The biggest householder scheme of the week: demolish the detached garage and build a lower-ground-floor and two-storey side extension plus a single-storey rear extension. Comments to 13 October (26/03675/HPA).

Chislehurst

  • 6 Norlands Crescent. Convert the garage to living space. Comments to 12 October (26/03659/HPA).
  • 18 Ashfield Lane. Demolish an outbuilding and build a replacement at the rear. Comments to 14 October (26/03682/HPA).

Orpington, Petts Wood, St Mary Cray and Chelsfield

  • 14 Broadwalk, Orpington (Orpington). Single-storey rear infill extension and an air conditioning unit to the side. Comments to 13 October (26/03662/HPA).
  • 145 Charterhouse Road, Orpington (Orpington). Lawful development certificate for internal alterations, including opening up the kitchen and dining room. A certificate confirms whether work needs permission at all, so there is no consultation in the usual sense (26/03666/LDC).
  • 2 Stephen Close, Orpington (Chelsfield). Two-storey side and rear extension. Comments to 13 October (26/03720/HPA).
  • 17 Wood Ride, Petts Wood (Petts Wood and Knoll). Conservation area tree notice: fell a western red cedar. Comments to 13 October (26/03722/TCA).

Still open from the week before

Six applications registered between 14 and 17 September are worth knowing about and can still be commented on:

  • Bromley Service Station, 116 Hastings Road (Bromley Common and Holwood). A 20-metre telecommunications mast with nine antennas, under the 56-day prior approval procedure used by EE and Three. The council can only rule on siting and appearance. Comments to 13 October (26/03588/NOT).
  • Unit 1, 168 Sevenoaks Way, Orpington (St Paul’s Cray). Four rapid electric vehicle charging stations in the car park, including one fully accessible bay. Comments to 12 October (26/03615/FPA).
  • Club Langley, 2 Hawksbrook Lane, Beckenham (Kelsey and Eden Park). A change to the approved plans for four padel courts, canopy and clubhouse, to revise the canopy and clubhouse design. Comments to 9 October (25/03623/S73A).
  • Keston Fruit Farm, Blackness Lane (Darwin). Replace the existing covered structure with a new one. Comments to 12 October (26/03634/FPA).
  • 255 Beckenham Road, Beckenham (Clock House). Ground-floor rear extension for a food preparation area and customer seating. Comments to 12 October (26/03643/FPA).
  • Christ Church Hall, Highland Road, Bromley (Bromley Town). Replacement roof materials. Comments to 12 October (26/03600/FPA).
