Carnival in Penge roasts its own beans; Melk in Chislehurst opens daily. 13 Bromley cafes with hours, dog rules and hygiene ratings, checked October 2026.
Most people looking for a café in Bromley borough end up at Carnival Coffee Roasters in Penge, which roasts its own beans; Melk on Royal Parade in Chislehurst, which opens every day; the Orpington, a café, restaurant and record store on Orpington High Street; or Fee & Brown in Beckenham. We checked every entry against the café’s own website or social page on 26 October 2026.
We have not visited these cafés for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry sets out what the café publishes: what it says it does, its prices where it shows them, its opening hours and its rules on dogs and bookings. Hygiene ratings come from the Food Standards Agency (FSA). Hours change with the seasons, so check before a special trip.

How we chose
These are the cafés people look for in Bromley borough. We chose them on the public record, not on taste: speciality roasting, how long a café has been trading, places linked to a landmark or a park, and the FSA hygiene rating. Every café here is rated 4 or 5. We left out cafés we could not check against a website or social page of their own on the day. For now, that ruled out several cafés in Bromley town centre and Petts Wood. Chains are not listed, because the borough has plenty of independents. Prices and hours are as published on 26 October 2026; check before you go, especially at Christmas.
