The High Court wound up M C S C Restaurants, the company behind Kaizen at The Glades, on 7 October. Liquidators took over on 14 October; Kaizen is silent.
The High Court has made a winding-up order against M C S C Restaurants Limited, the company that runs Kaizen, the pan-Asian restaurant in The Glades. The order was made on 7 October 2026, the day HM Revenue and Customs’ petition was heard.
The order was published in The London Gazette on 21 October (notice 5233254). A second notice the same day names the restaurant directly: the company is listed as “trading as Kaizen Restaurant” (notice 5234641).
We reported the petition in September: HMRC’s winding-up petition against Kaizen’s company.
What the two notices record
- The case: High Court of Justice, No 006277 of 2026, the petition HMRC filed on 12 August 2026.
- The order: a winding-up order dated 7 October 2026.
- First in charge: the Official Receiver, appointed on 7 October.
- Now in charge: two joint liquidators from Xeinadin Corporate Recovery Limited in Manchester, appointed by the Secretary of State for Business and Trade on 14 October.
- The address: Unit A3/3 Queen’s Garden, The Glades Shopping Centre, Bromley BR1 1DN, given as both the registered office and the principal trading address.
Neither notice says how much the company owes, or to whom.
Is Kaizen still open?
The public record does not say, and nobody involved has announced anything.
On 23 October, Kaizen’s own website still listed opening hours seven days a week and a table booking link (kaizenrestaurant.co.uk). The Glades’ store page still listed the restaurant with the same hours (The Glades, Kaizen). Companies House had not yet updated its record: the company still showed as “Active” (Companies House, 13679291).
Websites are often slow to change, so none of that confirms the restaurant is trading. Equally, a winding-up order ends the company, not necessarily the business at that unit. Liquidators sometimes sell a business on, and a restaurant can reopen under a new operator. If you are planning a visit, ring ahead.
What a winding-up order means
A winding-up order puts a company into compulsory liquidation. According to GOV.UK, the liquidator takes control and turns the company’s assets into money to pay its debts.
The company’s last accounts, for the year to 31 October 2024, showed net liabilities of £208,197. It owed £290,647 to creditors due within one year and had £22,863 in the bank. The detail is in our September report.
What it means for you
- If you have a booking or a gift voucher, contact the restaurant first. If you cannot get an answer, the liquidators are the people dealing with the company’s affairs.
- If the company owes you money, the liquidators are your contact. Their names, address and phone numbers are in Gazette notice 5234641.
- Hygiene was never the issue. The Food Standards Agency rated Kaizen 5, the top score, at its last inspection on 5 August 2025 (FSA).
