An eight-mile Veterans Walk and Talk raised £3,752.02 for Bromley FC Community Trust's work with veterans. The trust runs a Veterans Hub and football sessions.

An eight-mile charity walk has raised £3,752.02 for Bromley FC Community Trust’s work with veterans. The trust announced the total ahead of Remembrance weekend.

The Veterans Walk and Talk took place on Saturday 3 October. It was organised by Silverwood Financial Solutions and brought together local businesses, supporters and residents.

Where the money goes

The trust says the money will support its work with veterans and the Armed Forces community. That work includes:

  • a Veterans Hub
  • football sessions
  • social and wellbeing activities
  • help getting wider support, including a Veteran ID Card

The aim, the trust says, is to help people stay active, build friendships and feel less isolated.

Who backed it

James Mercer of Silverwood Financial Solutions said he hoped to make it an annual event. “It was great to see local businesses, the community and Bromley FC come together,” he said.

The trust also thanked six sponsors:

  • Judge & Priestley Solicitors
  • London Biggin Hill Airport
  • BN Drainage
  • Bell Lifts
  • Devonshire Green
  • Vitality

Jeff Hutton, the trust’s chief executive, said its work with veterans “continues to grow”. He said that was thanks to support like this.
