Five Bromley borough restaurants are Asian Curry Awards 2026 finalists, in West Wickham, Petts Wood, Green Street Green and St Paul's Cray. Voting is open now.

Five restaurants in the borough have made the shortlist for the Asian Curry Awards 2026, out of 213 finalists across the whole country (Asian Curry Awards shortlist).

None of them is in Bromley town. Two are in West Wickham, and the other three are in Petts Wood, Green Street Green and St Paul’s Cray.

The awards list two of them simply as “Bromley” and “Orpington”. The addresses above come from the council’s own food hygiene register, which also records all five at the top rating of 5 (Food Standards Agency).

One of them is going for three in a row

This is not a first appearance for most of the five. The awards’ own published winners lists show:

  • iNaga, West Wickham, won Asian Restaurant of the Year, London Suburbs in both 2024 and 2025. Its chef, Nanu Miah, was named Chef of the Year in 2023.
  • The Bombay, Green Street Green, won Asian Restaurant of the Year, London Suburbs in 2023 and Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year, London Suburbs in 2024.
  • Indian Essence, Petts Wood, won Asian Restaurant of the Year, London in 2023.

So a restaurant from this borough has won a category in each of the last three years, and iNaga is in the running for a third consecutive title.

iNaga describes itself as contemporary Bangladeshi dining and trades at Coney Hall on the western edge of West Wickham (iNaga). Indian Essence in Petts Wood is the restaurant of the Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar (Indian Essence). The Bombay in Green Street Green seats 110 (The Bombay), and Indian Valley trades on Cotmandene Crescent in St Paul’s Cray (Indian Valley).

How the result is decided

The awards are run by the Asian Catering Federation, based at 145 Stafford Road, Wallington. A public vote is open on the awards website, where you enter the restaurant or takeaway name, the town and your own contact details (vote page).

There is also a judging panel of eight, including Michelin-experienced head chef Binod Baral, former BBC journalist and Good Food Guide inspector George Shaw, and restaurateur Rajesh Suri (judging panel).

The awards do not publish how the public vote and the panel are weighted against each other, and no closing date for voting is given on the vote page.

The ceremony is on Sunday 15 November 2026 from 5pm, at The Great Room, Grosvenor House, 86 to 90 Park Lane, Mayfair.

What it means for you

  • You can vote for a local restaurant now, at asiancurryawards.com/vote. No deadline is published, so the ceremony date of 15 November is the only fixed point.
  • Book ahead if you are planning to go. Awards shortlists tend to fill tables, and two of the five sit in small parades rather than town centre sites.
  • Check the hygiene rating yourself for any venue, at ratings.food.gov.uk. Bromley’s inspections feed straight into it.
  • One nearby finalist is outside the borough: Tulsi, Westerham, in the Sevenoaks district of Kent, about nine miles south of Bromley town centre, is also on the 2026 list.
